Pressing Play: Restarting My Blogging Journey

It’s been quite a while since I’ve published anything on Medium. As I got busy studying for my Master's Degree a year ago, I grew distant from a few things — social media, design, photography, and this blog.

Many hustlers balance everything, like studying/working and creating, but I’m from the lazy bunch. I’ve been visiting my blog for the past few months but couldn’t get myself to write anything. I stared at the empty page for hours and wrote a few stories to delete them moments later. There was a significant lack of inspiration, motivation, and confidence.

I turned to AI to spit out articles for me, but what’s the point of that? I’m not a content creator. I try to write about interesting things and my experiences with those for fun. Letting AI come up with the articles makes no sense to me.

The Plan

I thought of browsing around for a few prompts and topics that would let me write stories about personal experiences and things that won’t need much research — which will help me get the ball rolling and get into the habit of writing and publishing stuff on here.

If you feel stuck in your journey just as I do, hopefully, you can get some ideas and inspiration from this article to start or restart your own journey into writing. One thing to remember, that I’ve told myself again and again, is that writing online isn’t all about creating educational content; sharing experiences and stories is just as valuable. Then again, it’s not always easy to realize and come up with these topics either. You can find some prompts and topics you can write about below.

This seems like a very interesting resource to me. The prompts for blog ideas are quite diverse, helping to dive deep into my life and think about things from the past and divulge into the imaginary world to write stories.

I’m hoping to write a story for each of the prompts.

Semrush Blog — 121 Blog Ideas and Topics to Write About

This is an extensive list of over 100 topics across 12 categories, but not all of the topics will be relevant to everyone. However, there’s always an opportunity to get inspired by topics from different categories. Additionally, there’s a section sharing 17 different types of blog posts you can write and finally a section sharing a few different methods and resources to find blog post ideas.

From this well of a resource, I hope to extract some ideas for posts and hopefully make a system to keep generating new ideas and topics to write about.

Now, there are hundreds and thousands of resources out there on the internet. And I’m fine with selecting just two. I don’t know if they’re the best resources out there, but I know they are good enough to get me started. This is something we waste a lot of time on, perfection.

Although we usually take “perfection” in the context of creation, we often overlook that we pursue perfection when obtaining something as well. We want the best deals, the best stuff — and in this context, the perfect resources. Sometimes, having something good enough does the job and saves a boatload of time. Same thing I’m going for here.

🦄 That’s all folks!

I’m just as excited as I am anxious to start writing again. Don’t forget to leave a clap or two if you liked this story. Drop a comment about your journey — everyone has a unique story — or drop a “Hi there!”. I’d love for you to join along for the journey, so follow me on Medium and Twitter (or X).
